Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?
Tim Burton's BATMAN is a stylish, gothic, often very funny romp that gives visual homage to the Bob Kane comics while creating a universe that's all its own. Michael Keaton is smooth, dry and offers a surprising bit of levity as the caped crusader, and Kim Basinger is his sexy, smart love interest Vicki Vale. The film is probably most memorable for Jack Nicholson's portrayal of The Joker, which would have lived forever in the annals of Hollywood if not for a certain Heath Ledger performance.
Gotham is brought to dark, terrifying life in the 1989 thriller, and only Batman can save its citizens from the growing crime menace attacking the city. Particularly once crime boss Jack Napier falls into a vat of acid and emerges as The Joker, hell bent on bringing destruction to the city. With an iconic score by Danny Elfman and co-starring turns by Jack Palance, Robert Wuhl and Billy Dee Williams as D.A. Harvey Dent, catch BATMAN on the big screen while you can. And remember--never rub another man's rhubarb!
