Look, we all know Hallmark invented Valentine's Day in order to sell more greeting cards, but this made-up holiday isn't going anywhere. You might as well just engage and celebrate or else you'll be labeled a "scrooge" who doesn't have any "holiday spirit" instead of the being acknowledged as the liberated, free-thinker you truly are.
So join us, won't you, for some Valentine's themed film screenings this week? Up first we've got the Baz Lurhmann fantasical jukebox musical tribute to romance and artistic expression "Moulin Rouge!*" this Friday, February 10, at 10:30 pm. It's this week's Friday Night Flick (so tickets are only $3 or 2 for $5) and it's also a BFF Night! A "Gal-entine's Day" BFF Night, at that! There'll be contests and prizes to give away so don't be late!†
But the real Valentine's Day celebrations kick off on the day itself (Tuesday, February 14) at 9:30 pm, when we welcome the Workshop Brewing Company back to sell their terrific beer at a screening of the 1980's cult classic "The Princess Bride!" Inconceivable, you say? Nope. It's been conceived. Tickets are only $5.
And remember, as Cary Elwes' Man in Black says, life is pain; anyone who says differently is selling something. OMG just like Hallmark! We're through the looking glass here on...
